Dear First
Methodist Family,
We’re well into our “Simple Machines” Message Series and we just completed “Finding a Short Cut” this past weekend. This weekend we’ll be talking about “First Line of Defense,” using “The Ramp” as the simple machine illustration. I hope you’re enjoying the “Tool Time” video illustrations our media team has produced. View them on the podcast! We’ll build on that theme for the next few weeks. Wayne and I enjoyed acting in our “Tool Time” skits and we think they’ll help illustrate the purpose of the Pulley, Wedge, Ramp, Lever and The Wheel. I hope you’re looking forward to the next message and the next video illustration. I also hope you’ve invited someone to worship at First Methodist with you.
We had a great time at the “Time to Grow” event last Sunday evening. Our Family Life Center was filled with people who have a special desire to see our church grow as we reach out individually and corporately to our community. It’s all about being willing to “Walk Across the Room” to share your faith and your friendship with a neighbor, friend, or even a stranger.
We learned about how to share the single greatest gift that we can give as Christ-followers. It’s an introduction to people to the God Who created them, Who loves them, and Who has a purpose for their lives. |

Nothing beats it – not monetary gain, not job opportunities, not recognition or accolades. That is what evangelism is – constantly watching for ways to give that gift to someone else.
That’s also how we help our church grow. We share our faith, invite people to church, and help them connect to a relational group or a ministry once they attend. I hope you’ll join our “Time to Grow’ team in an intentional way by reaching out to our community and inviting them to Christ and His church.
We have a full ministry schedule coming up this spring and summer, and there are countless opportunities to invite someone to attend an event or a worship service. This might be a time to open up, walk across the room, leave your comfort zone, and see what God does as you reach out.
