Dear First
Methodist Family,
| A new message series called “Simple Machines – Making Life Work” begins this week. In the midst of a changing world, it’s becoming more and more difficult to make life work. This Sunday, we’ll begin five Sundays where we’ll talk about the “simple tools” that God provides in “Making Life Work.” This Sunday we’ll illustrate one of God’s special truths with the “Pulley” as we talk about “A Community of Hope.” We’ve sent out over 40,000 invitations to our community to share worship with us and I hope you’ll be in your place as we begin five Sundays of discovering God’s plan to make life work. |

In sending out over 40,000 special invitations to our community, we’re continuing our tradition as a congregation that is very focused on outreach. We want to reach the world for Christ and we know that the world begins in our neighborhood. We’re also getting closer and closer to our “Time To Grow” kick off on Sunday, April 13 from 4:30 pm until 6:30 pm. We’re including Santa Fe Stew, a green salad, and dessert with this very important event and I hope you’ll and click the “Time to Grow” link and sign up as soon as you can or complete the bulletin tear-off. As you know, joining the “Time to Grow” team has only one training session and one celebration banquet this year. This is one of the big moments in our ministry this year and our goal is 500 people in attendance on Sunday, April 13th. We’re almost half way to our goal, so we’re hoping for quite a few sign-ups as the event draws near. Your involvement in “Time to Grow” will not in any way hinder your other service commitments. This is not another committee – we will only have two meetings. Will you give prayerful consideration to joining in this vital effort?
Our church was part of a miracle when we completed “Time to Build.” We built a 3 ½ million dollar project debt free. That was indeed a miracle! It’s time for another miracle at First Methodist! A “Time to Grow” miracle! Just like it took all of us for “Time to Build,” it will take all of us for “Time to Grow.”
We’ll be sharing some exciting stories about how to grow our church and how to share our faith. But it will be simple and motivational time, just like “Time to Build.” You won’t want to miss being part of this team. One of our church members invited five families to worship with us on Easter Sunday. All five families came. We want to share how all of us can make the future of First Methodist part of our story and have that kind of success in growing God’s church. Go to the web and sign up today (so we can prepare), e-mail me at sramsdell@fumcwaco.org or give me a call at 772-5630.
