First United Methodist Church

We believe God is calling us to be champions for the cause of Christ by:

• Communicating the grace message of God's love for people;
• Bringing people into the family of God; and
• Equipping people to live and grow in their faith as committed Christ-followers.

Living out this vision means:

1. Every member living in God's loving, unmerited grace and choosing to walk faithfully in the     steps of Jesus Christ.

2. Every member living to love, seek, and work to help people encounter the grace and call of     God.

3. Every member worshiping God, together as a church and personally as a committed
   Christ-follower.

4. Every member participating in a small group community and/or Life Transformation Group.

5. Every member developing a Biblical worldview by learning and applying God's Word.

6. Every member being faithful with the resources God has provided.

7. Every member devoted to prayer.

8. Every member discovering and using their spiritual gifts for ministry and mission.

As we each live out this vision, we are seeking to meet the Five Purposes of the Church.
